# Collection Types

Stargaze offers different collection types to fit your project's needs.

## Standard Collections

The classic NFT collection format.

**Best for:**

* PFP projects
* Generative art
* Limited edition drops

**Features:**

* Fixed supply
* Randomized minting
* Whitelist support
* Reveal mechanics (optional)

## Light Mints

A new, cost-effective option for smaller creators.

**Best for:**

* First-time creators
* Smaller collections
* Testing the waters

**Features:**

* Lower upfront costs
* Simplified setup
* Same Marketplace features once minted

## Open Editions

Unlimited or time-limited minting.

**Best for:**

* Community drops
* Commemorative pieces
* Accessibility-focused launches

**Features:**

* No cap on supply (or time-limited)
* Everyone can mint
* Often lower price point

## 1/1 Art

Single-edition pieces for fine art.

**Best for:**

* Artists selling individual works
* High-value pieces
* Auctions

**Features:**

* One unique NFT per artwork
* Often sold via auction
* Maximum scarcity

## Choosing the Right Type

| If you want...             | Choose...           |
| -------------------------- | ------------------- |
| Classic NFT drop with hype | Standard Collection |
| Low cost, simple launch | Light Mint |
| Maximum participation      | Open Edition        |
| High-value art sales       | 1/1 Art             |

## Technical Differences

All collection types use the CW721 standard on Cosmos Hub, ensuring:

* Full Marketplace compatibility
* Royalty enforcement (creator needs to stay active)
* IBC transferability

The differences are mainly in minting mechanics and pricing, not the underlying NFT standard.
